🌉 Ford Focus 1.6 Tdci Turbo Boost Solenoid Location
This is triggered when the desired and actual turbo vane positions don’t match during the learn procedure. The P003A code can be caused by a variable geometry turbo (VGT) turbocharger that’s out of calibration, vane position sensor failure, turbocharger failure, or turbocharger vane control actuator solenoid failure.
the EGR valve can stick open, loosing boost pressure and reducing energy to the turbine. the VNT (variable nozzle turbo) has vanes that can be coked up/ jammed. So most of these things are (lack of) "boost" or "restricted" related. Are there any other symptoms (smoke/ strange noises etc)

The DPF causes a lot of back pressure against the turbo turbine which is another factor in how long it lasts, the more it blocks, the more back pressure there is. When something like EGR, injector or glowplugs fail, this can all cause more soot than the DPF can burn, as well as a faulty DPF pressure sensor.

Hi all, im a newbie here and hope you can help. the turbo doesn't work so I've tried a few different things and the only thing I can find is the vacuum solenoid on the rear of the engine isn't letting the vacuum through to the actuator. A mechanic friend told me that this model of focus can suffer with wiring loom

Have a look at: The three pipes are Vent, Turbo Actuator, Vacuum pump. (Your loose pipe is the vent, as you say.)
check the boost pressure solenoid behind the engine.a ***** vacuum solenoid is prone to fail on all focuses mk2.have 2 focus 1.6 tdci and both lacked power.follow the turbo vacuum line to the back of the engine(***** position as you will not see it but you need to feel it),10 mm nuts holding it(x2).remove as it is with the vacuum lines attached
